Update - The circuit remains down due to failed repair attempts on previous permitted maintenance windows from Network Rail. We will provide a further update when we receive one from the connectivity provider.

To reiterate the current impact of this incident to UKServers customers is: slightly higher latency for traffic that would otherwise usually ingress/egress though Manchester - as peering in the Manchester PoP is shutdown as a precaution.

Nov 24, 2025 - 10:14 GMT
Update - Unfortunately the repairs proved unsuccessful. The connectivity provider will carry out their alternative repair plan, however this relies on permitted access from Network Rail and is scheduled for 00:01 - 07:59 on 23rd November UTC.
Nov 22, 2025 - 21:08 GMT
Update - The latest update from the connectivity provider is that their fibre team are presently carrying out repairs and service should be restored within the next few hours.

Nov 21, 2025 - 19:41 GMT
Update - The connectivity provider has confirmed a fibre break and have dispatched repair teams. No ETA at this time but resolution expected within the next few hours.
Nov 21, 2025 - 16:38 GMT
Identified - The connectivity provider has "identified Transport services impacted in Birmingham, United Kingdom" and expect to provide a further update within the next 2 hours.
Nov 21, 2025 - 14:10 GMT
Investigating - One of our core connectivity wavelengths to Manchester is unexpectedly down.

Customers with services directly in Manchester should be considered at risk at present.

We have engaged the third-party connectivity partner and will provide further updates when we receive further information from them.

Scheduled Maintenance

Core Network Upgrade - Coventry (11th December 2025) Dec 11, 2025 01:30-02:00 GMT

Update - This maintenance is being rescheduled for Thursday 11th December @ 01:30 AM (UK Time).
Previously 21st November.

Nov 10, 2025 - 14:30 GMT
Scheduled - Following on from substantial edge network capacity upgrades over the recent 18 months, we have planned capacity upgrades in our Coventry datacentre to bring the overall network capacity into the datacentre from 400 Gigabit to 1.2 Terabit in Q1 2026.

As part of these upgrades, an additional router upgrade is necessary in order to support the new native 400GbE connections.

On Thursday 11th December 2025 at 01:30 AM (UK Time), we will be migrating a portion of services in our Continuity House (Coventry) datacentre to a new router.

During this time, customers with dedicated server or shared co-location services located in our Continuity House (Coventry) datacentre may experience up to 2 minutes network connectivity interruption.

We are opening a 30 minute maintenance window for contingency purposes.

This affects services beginning with an "S-" or "C-" ID.
The overall UKServers network and services in other locations are not expected to experience any disruption.

Customers with IP Transit or Quarter/Half/Full Rackspace services will NOT be impacted, unless otherwise contacted directly.

10-November Update: This has been rescheduled from 21st November to 11th December.

Nov 16, 20:00 GMT
Scheduled - During the above period, one of the suppliers of wavelength services (Neos Networks) providing connectivity from our London PoPs to our Coventry datacentres will be carrying out essential maintenance work.

This work involves migration of services from ODF to a new rack/equipment location to ensure consistency throughout the network, enhance functionality and prevent obsolescence.

Due to the redundant nature of the UK Servers network this maintenance is not expected to be service affecting for our customers as traffic will automatically re-route on alternative paths however due to the nature of the work the network to our Coventry site should be deemed at risk during this period.

Whilst a lengthy maintenance window is scheduled to cover all eventualities, the service provider does not expect the circuits to be offline for the duration of the maintenance window and UK Servers customer's services should not be affected.
